The Kolly-Chamorel duo met in 1994 and gave their first concert 30 years ago in Zurich. The two young musicians from Lausanne had just won two first prizes in the final of the Jeunesses Musicales competition. 30 years later, in 2024, they are releasing a monument to the violin-piano repertoire: the three Violin Sonatas by Brahms, on the label Indésens.

Brahms is their third album together. Rachel and Christian have received numerous awards for their recordings, including Supersonic Awards, an ICMA Award and numerous nominations for the same prize, 5 stars from Diapason, CD of the Month in Japan, 5 stars from Classica, 5 stars from BBC Mag, recommendations from Strings Magazine and Gramophone Mag.

Despite their respective solo and chamber music careers, over the years the two musicians have performed together all over the world at prestigious festivals such as the Menton Festival, the Chicago Beethoven Festival, the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival and the Rencontres Musicales de Rome; in famous venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Warsaw Castle and Tokyo's Musashino Hall; and for radio broadcasts by the BBC in London, RTF in Dublin, France Musique and WFMT in Chicago, among others. They have toured extensively in Central America and Europe.

In 2024, Rachel and Christian will be touring the three Violin Sonatas by Brahms and will make their Carnegie Hall debut on 6 November. They will also play in Berlin, London, Chicago, Paris, Zurich and elsewhere, celebrating 30 years of friendship and music at the highest level.
